The meaning of eco in fashion

Around the world concern grows about human impact on our planet.

The way we conceptualize fashion is no longer relevant to the circumstances. Beauty and health are closely knitted ideals and throughout the last couple of decades we sacrificed one to the superficial benefit of the other with devastating results for our communities and natural habitat.

The meaning of eco in fashion is an attempt to reconstruct our belief systems in consumerism and move towards a less destructive behaviour. We can collectively take a first step to start the conversation. Fashion established a monologue challenged by the IoT and the social media technological breakthrough.

The dialogue starts with the consumer, the customer, the citizen, the worker. What shapes our needs and differentiates our desires is directly linked to our environment and society. Creativity that feels good might be the new definition of luxury.
